WELCOME TO NCHS
NCHS Mission Statement: NCHS Community is committed to preparing responsible and life-long learners who value themselves, contribute to their society, and succeed in a changing world. “Every Student, Every Chance, Every Day” Natrona County High School (traditionally called Casper High) has been a stalwart of Wyoming for more than 100 years. Built in 1924, the current school unites tradition with innovation. Alumni have established themselves in leadership roles throughout the community, state, nation and world. The academic programs are second to none, and the school consistently leads the region with National Merit Scholarship finalists. The International Baccalaureate program graduates a very high percentage of its students every year. Nearly all of the staff members have advanced degrees, and many are recognized experts and educational leaders in their respective fields. School staff members continue to work on the Professional Learning Community goals that allow teachers time to collaborate on common instruction and assessments. Staff collaboration meetings are designed to enable each and every student to realize his or her full academic potential. Curriculum: NCHS teachers and staff believe that every student can be successful at NCHS. The school has a small learning community freshmen program based upon the philosophy that student success in the ninth grade is a predictor for the eventual successful completion of high school. NCHS offers multilevel courses in math, language arts, social studies and science, including the International Baccalaureate program, which is a comprehensive and rigorous liberal arts course of study. In addition to outstanding academic core programs, NCHS has rich offerings in electives for students, including fine and performing arts, as well as an extensive selection of foreign language classes, including Russian. Career technical education offers a vast assortment of career trades, agriscience, business education, and family and consumer science. Physical education facilities are exemplary, including an indoor track, weight room, physical fitness center, and multipurpose outdoor facility. NCHS is proud to offer Junior ROTC, which has been a tradition at the school community since October 1913.
